Because I work hard, I listen to constituents and I truly care about our community. As the incumbent, I know how to do this job. During my time as Mayor, we have completed infrastructure projects to keep up with the needs of our growing City, created a Pavement Management Plan to continue maintenance and funding for streets in the more established parts of town, welcomed $17.5M in industrial and $13M in commercial development between 2019 - 2025, which broadened our tax base and brought hundreds of jobs to Carver and SO MUCH MORE! There is still more to be done. In addition to my priorities below, I will continue to support the Levee Improvement Project and capital improvement plan funding strategy to decrease the City’s reliance on bonding
TRANSPARENCY & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT – It is important for residents to remain informed about their city’s work through timely communication and frequent resident outreach. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY – I’ll never forget our budgets are made primarily of funds collected from taxpayers. I strive always be a good steward of this money. SMART DEVELOPMENT – The process for the 2050 Comprehensive Plan will start soon. We’re making decisions now to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our growing communit
As Mayor, I ALWAYS conduct myself in an ethical manner.

Through proactive and responsive communication, transparency between the city and constituents is improved. I make sure our community is informed about the work of City Council through social media outreach and monthly newsletters. I hold quarterly office hours, invite constituents to my home for conversations over a meal and more. In 2019 I advocated to have Work Sessions live streamed so residents could more easily access our meetings.
Here too, communication is key. Each month I end my column in the city newsletter by saying “As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns about anything that’s going on in our community, please don’t hesitate to reach out,” AND I MEAN IT!

I hold quarterly office hours and host community events, like hikes to the cheese cave, to give residents the opportunity to connect, share thoughts and ask questions. I also use my social media channels for engagement and to solicit feedback.
I will continue to demonstrate my support of the Carver Fire Department by advocating for full funding of their capital improvement (equipment) plan and hiring a full-time chief. I have and will continue to push for improvements to the CR 44 (Big Woods Boulevard) and CR 11 (Jonathan Carver Parkway) intersection to make it safer. I have secured more than $13.3 million in grants for Carver’s Levee Improvement Project, which will keep residents in our historic downtown’s 100-year floodplain safe.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
