I believe Hamburg residents deserve a mayor who brings experience, independence, and a commitment to open, accountable government.

After nearly 31 years in Law Enforcement, four years of service on the Hamburg City Council, and nearly two decades as a Hamburg resident, I understand both the responsibilities of Public Service and the importance of earning public trust. I am running because I believe local government must always remember who it serves: the residents. My commitment is to restore transparency, encourage citizen involvement, protect taxpayer resources, and provide leadership that listens, explains decisions, and accepts accountability.
Restoring public confidence through transparency, accountability, & ethical leadership.

Ensuring responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars by carefully reviewing spending & making decisions based on what best serves Hamburg residents.

Rebuilding communication between City government & residents so citizens have a meaningful voice in decisions affecting their community.

Effective government begins with trust. I'll create a City government that residents understand & have confidence in.
Transparency starts with leadership. I will work to ensure residents have timely access to understandable information about City decisions, finances, and policies. Public Officials must remember that elected positions are a public trust, not a personal privilege. I will encourage thorough discussion of issues, responsible recordkeeping, compliance with applicable laws and policies, and an environment where legitimate questions from residents are welcomed rather than discouraged.
Residents should never feel disconnected from their local government.

I will make accessibility and communication priorities by listening to concerns, encouraging public participation, and creating opportunities for residents to provide input before major decisions are made. As mayor, I will work to ensure that every resident has the opportunity to be heard, regardless of their viewpoint. A healthy community depends on open discussion, mutual respect, and citizen involvement.
Public Safety requires experience, professionalism, and trust between government, Law Enforcement, emergency responders, and residents.

My nearly 31 years in Law Enforcement taught me that effective public safety depends on accountability, communication, and cooperation. As mayor, I will support responsible public safety practices, maintain strong relationships with emergency services, and work to ensure Hamburg remains a safe community where residents feel protected and respected.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
