As a member of the Andover EDA for the past four years, I have learned how the city of Andover operates and have a solid understanding of what can be improved. I have developed relationships with many of the city leaders. If elected, this will enable me to make immediate contributions. I was also recently asked to join the Steering Committee for the Comprehensive Plan project that will be starting soon. This role will enable me to guide future decisions for the city. My almost 40 years of industry experience will be invaluable as I leverage the best practices that I have learned for the betterment of the residents of Andover.
My priorities for the city of Andover are to encourage private investment, expand the tax base and keep property taxes low. I will also take actions to improve the financial transparency that is provided by city leadership. The city should redevelop the area just north of Bunker Lake Boulevard in between Crosstown Drive and Xavis St. Finally, after purchasing and removing several run-down buildings, it is now time for the city to improve this area by encouraging business development.
I have learned that it is our differences that make us stronger. I will ensure that I am approachable and that I listen to the needs of all residents of Andover. Policy should be inclusive and represent the entire community. I will encourage all residents to make their voices heard. This includes participation during the open microphone section of the City Councill meetings. It must always be remembered that City government should work for the people and not the other way around.
Financial transparency from the city government is critical to build trust. Information must be presented in a way that is easy to find and easy to understand. The taxpayers have a right to know where their tax dollars are being spent. The debate for all key decisions should be made in the public forum. After key decisions are made and actions are taken, there should be full reporting of the actual results compared to initial projections. This approach will support continuous improvement.

I’ve worked in team settings in the workplace. In order to achieve that goal you have to hear different perspectives on how to arrive at that goal that you may not have thought. I’ve also worked on bargaining team representing over 1900+ people and the goal is to work for the common good of not yourself but of the entire workplace or group you represent. I’ll use that experience in order to serve effectively on the Andover City Council. Since January of 2025 I’ve been at nearly all the city council workshops, economic development authority meetings and have watched all the city council and commission meetings available on video. I’m confident I’ll be able to step into that role on day one.
Public Safety. Well maintained roads. Local economic development. We want our residents to be safe in every aspect of life in Andover. This would mean making sure utilities are well within capacity for demand. This would also include but it is not limited to safe roads and emergency access to all parts of Andover to ensure response times are met. Growing the local economy means more options for residents for work and hard earned dollars spent right here in Andover.
Being on the Andover City council means that you look to represent every one of the residents. Not a particular neighborhood, group, or area. The seats on the city council are at large so I wouldn’t represent be representing a part of Andover, but the entirety of Andover. Any decision that I will make will be made in mind of how it affects all of Andover residents.
I would continue the trend that the Anodver City council currently has. The topics covered at previous meetings are either video recorded and if they aren’t you can read the minutes of what occurred during the meeting. Any upcoming meetings, usually a couple of days in advance you anyone can access the packets for upcoming council meetings or commission meetings and see the information that those elected or those appointed review prior to that particular meeting.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
