1)Healthcare access and affordability; establishing a permanent revenue source so that our hospitals (e.g. HCMC) stay financially solvent 2) Investing in our public schools and universities 3) Transportation - making transportation accessible to everyone, including those who do not drive

*Also, we must pass Gun Violence Prevention legislation (banning weapons of war, assault weapons, high capacity magazines, ghost guns and binary triggers)
For starters, we must continue investing in our schools and our young people by funding public education.

We need to establish a system of healthcare that is affordable and accessible to everyone. We also need to update and modernize our infrastructure so that young people will want to live and work here and we can compete with the rest of the world.
We need to make sure that every kid learns to read and every kid has access to a good public education, regardless of what their zip code is.
Yes, it's past time to adopt the ERA.
I support further investments in replacing lead pipes and removing PFAS from our water. I also want our BWCA permanently protected from copper sulfide mining.
We need to recruit and hire more law enforcement officers. I'd like to see more women entering the field as they have been shown to be naturally more skilled at de-escalation.

We need to pass more GVP legislation, inc safe storage laws.

We also need to continue to reduce the number of traffic fatalities through education and better enforcement.
I am interested in a more robust public financing program for political candidates. We can look at places like NYC for inspiration on how we can better support those who want to run for office but do not have the financial means. Overturning Citizens United requires Congressional support but at the state level we can update and bolster our state's campaign finance laws.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
