At the doors, the three most common things I hear from voters are affordability, gun violence prevention, and Flock cameras. At the state capitol, those are the issues I will be working on. For example, we need to fight back against how some of the biggest companies in the world are nickel-and-diming us by banning surveillance pricing, which inflates prices for consumers every time they shop. I plan to reintroduce the large magazine ban, which has been proven to save lives and that State Republicans refuse to work on. Lastly, I have two bills that will protect Minnesotans’ data from Flock, and we have seen that data misused too many times.
The inflation we are seeing is a direct result of State and Federal Republicans choosing to fight a war in Iran or prioritize their ultra-wealthy friends over Minnesotans like you and me. In our state, I’ll focus on passing policies that bring down housing costs, ensure every family has access to affordable, high-quality child care and healthcare, and stop the biggest businesses in the world from nickel-and-diming us. Minnesota can be the best place to work, raise a family, and start a business.
Every policy we consider during the legislative session needs to be viewed through an equity lens. As transportation chair, I know how the way we build our transportation systems can uplift or decimate communities, and there are numerous examples of poor transportation planning that show that. You can count on me to support any policy that moves us toward our shared vision of an equitable world.
Absolutely! Our Constitution shouldn't leave anyone out of its safeguards, and given the full-on assault on many of the rights we have counted on, we should have passed the ERA yesterday. Let’s get this done!
I am proud to have worked with my fellow DFLers as we protect our communities and precious lands from pollution. This past year, I led a bill to ban the use of Paraquat, a pesticide directly linked to Parkinson's. My family still farms today, and we know how important it is to protect our natural resources and our neighbors from this type of pollution.
One topic that comes up at the doors is the prevalence of Flock in our communities. During Operation Metro Surge, ICE followed me to my home and knew who I was due to their access to Flock - and that is only the tip of the iceberg. I will reintroduce two laws that put strict limits on their use or ultimately kick Flock, and other ALPRs, out of our state.
We are seeing an unprecedented amount of money being funneled into our elections. It is diluting the voices of hard-working Minnesotans in favor of the world's biggest companies. It needs to end, and I would strongly support any legislation that turns the tide.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
