1) Fiscal responsibility: the school district’s need to borrow over $7 million at the end of 2024 demonstrates the need for better fiscal management, including clearer reporting, more detailed budgets and long-range planning. 2) Accountability in policy and program management. 3) Equity in educational opportunities.
I have been actively involved in the schools my children have attended. I have taught Junior Achievement in every grade from K to 8. I have advocated for better training and administration of standardized tests (e.g., ACT) provided by the district. I have also spent time communicating long-range development ideas for the district’s International Baccalaureate program.

Safety in schools: a safe environment is the foundation for academic success. Every child deserves to learn in a space free from violence, fear and distractions. Financial governance: I want to ensure we are responsible stewards of taxpayers' dollars and provide clear transparency. Equity in education: all students need access to resources to help them thrive.
Being an involved parent I have witnessed and assisted in classrooms by being a parent volunteer. I currently serve as parent teacher group president at two schools in the district and vice president of one.

If reelected, I would prioritize ensuring: 1) a healthy and safe learning environment for students and teachers, 2) the district's fiscal health and, 3) strategic community partnerships that bolster the district's efforts to recruit and retain highly qualified educators.
