As a candidate for the St. Louis Public Schools board, my priorities are student achievement, community trust and teacher support. I will advocate for strong literacy instruction, equitable resources and student-centered policies. Governance and accountability will rebuild trust, ensuring inclusive decision-making while we support and retain teachers through fair pay.
My family are all graduates of SLPS schools, I also have a host of cousins, nieces and friends' children who attend SLPS. My daughter attended Ames Elementary School. I have a godchild who attends SLPS now. My roots in SLPS are deep and my commitment to the children of SLPS is evident. I want them to thrive, learn and grow.

I served as the Director of Special Programs in the Normandy District, taught nine years as an adjunct professor at Webster University and was a principal for 20 years in New Orleans.

Board governance. Continue implementation of citywide blueprint plan as well as efforts to make schools a safer place for students. Work with the board and superintendent to improve academic performance utilizing best-practice strategies. Strengthen and update board policies.
Chaired a citywide plan committee that, after an 18-month intense community participation process, produced a vision for SLPS' future. As chair of the real estate committee, I redesigned real estate sessions, obtained funding to replace lead-contaminated fencing in all affected schools as well as support for reading initiatives and safety improvements in our schools.

I’ve been an SLPS parent since 2012. I’m the only candidate who has kids enrolled in the district. I have an education degree. I was the director of North St. Louis YouthBuild, a construction training and GED program in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Before becoming a parent, I volunteered at Mann Elementary in south city and Bryan Hill Elementary in north city.

I served on the St. Roch Catholic School board for four years, focusing on governance, financial oversight and strategic planning. I worked with leadership to enhance academics, improve budget transparency and allocate resources effectively. Collaborating with board members and the community, I helped strengthen St. Roch’s commitment to academic excellence.
