Simple majority required.Ballot wording: Shall the Village of Hillsdale impose an annual fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) on residential property for the purpose of funding repairs of sewer lateral lines on residential property containing six (6) or fewer dwelling units?Summary: This proposition would impose an annual fee of $50 to establish a city fund that homeowners can access to cover the costs of repairs for lateral sewer lines. Similar programs are in place in many municipalities and in unincorporated St. Louis County. Implementation details vary by jurisdiction. The sewer line between the main sewer line and the foundation of the house (not the portion underneath the foundation) is typically covered. Application fees and coverage limits will be determined later. A similar proposal was rejected by voters in November.
