Webster Groves Amendment 1
Simple majority required.Ballot wording: Shall Article 2 Section 2.4 of the Charter of the City of Webster Groves be amended to change the compensation of the City Council and the Mayor?Summary: If passed, the compensation for council members will increase from $20 per meeting to $400 a month. The compensation for the mayor will increase from $25 per meeting to $625 per month. Proponents say these increases are needed to adjust for inflation because ccurrent amounts were set in 1965. They also say the changes would bring the city in line with other municipalities and promote participation by people of all backgrounds.
