Four-sevenths majority required.Ballot wording: Shall the Board of Education of the School District of Maplewood Richmond Heights, St. Louis County, Missouri borrow money in the amount of $15,000,000 for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, renovating, improving, furnishing and equipping school sites, buildings and related facilities, including facilities upkeep, safety improvements and track and field renovations, and issue general obligation bonds for the payment thereof? If this proposition is approved, the current debt service levy of the school district is expected to decrease from $1.35 to $0.85 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.Summary: This measure authorizes the district to borrow $15 million to make facility improvements across the district. If passed, taxes would not increase. Projects include building a seed-to-table classroom and a track/field area, and making major upgrades to the library and theatre. Major maintenance projects would include repairing and replacing roofs and HVAC systems, improving the Early Childhood Center and elementary school kitchen and installing fire doors and cameras and other safety equipment. Proponents say much needed infrastructure has already been postponed. Major upgrades would facilitate the excellent education the district is providing. They also say the passage of both Propositions B and E are needed to move the district forward.
