Kinloch Fire District Proposition F
Simple majority required.Ballot wording: Shall the Board of Directors of the Kinloch Fire Protection District be authorized to levy an additional tax of not more than .25 cents on the one hundred dollars assessed valuation to provide funds for the support of the district?Summary: This measure would authorize the district to increase the property tax rate by 25 cents per $100 assessed valuation. If passed, the owner of a $75,000 home would pay about $36 more in taxes per year. The measure would generate about $26,000 more a year to help fund district operations. Proponents say calls for service increased from 345 in 2023 to 455 in 2024. There are currently four full-time firefighters who are assisted by volunteers. Supporters of the proposition say competitive salaries must be paid if the district is to provide quality 24/7 service and cover increasing maintenance and other costs.
