Crawford County R-I School District Question

Four-sevenths majority required.Ballot wording: Shall Crawford County R-1 School District issue its general obligation bonds in the amount of $8,000,000, estimated to result in no increase to the District's debt service property tax levy, for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, improving, repairing, renovating, furnishing and equipping school sites and facilities, including safety and security improvements, repairing and replacing roofs and HVAC systems, making renovations to District facilities, upgrading playground facilities at the Elementary School and Middle School, and site improvements to parking lots? If this question is approved, the District's debt service property tax levy is estimated to remain unchanged at $0.9350 per $100 dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.Summary: The measure would allow the district to borrow $8 million for major repairs and upgrades to its two schools. If passed, taxes would not increase but the debt obligation would be extended. Major projects include roof and water damage repairs, security upgrades, playground replacement and HVAC upgrades.
