Funding from this local use tax will be used to secure a stable funding source for the future of Franklin County's 9-1-1 and emergency dispatch services.Summary: The measure would allow the county to impose a quarter-cent tax on out-of-state purchases. If passed, about $1 million would be raised annually to help pay for 911 services. When established, 911 service was funded by a 15% tax on landline phones but the county's 911 system has been deficit spending because the number of landline phones has decreased.
