Washington School District Proposition W

Four-sevenths majority required.Ballot wording: Shall the Board of Education of The School District of Washington, Franklin County, Missouri, issue general obligation bonds in the amount of $22,000,000 for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, renovating, furnishing and equipping school buildings, sites and facilities, including but limited to security improvements and renovations to the high school? If this proposition is approved, the debt service levy of the school district is estimated to remain unchanged from the current debt service levy of $0.47 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.Summary: The measure would allow the district to borrow $22 million to make major renovations and repairs across the district. If passed, taxes would not increase but the district’s debt obligation would be extended. Major projects include high school building upgrades and HVAC repairs, accessibility upgrades, playground replacements and necessary repairs in the elementary schools.
