Fox School District Proposition M

Four-sevenths majority required.Ballot wording: Shall the Board of Education of the Fox C-6 School District borrow money in the amount of $48,000,000 for the purpose of paying costs of acquiring, constructing, renovating, furnishing and equipping school sites, buildings and related facilities, including the replacement of heating and air conditioning systems and roofs, the installation of safety and security improvements throughout the school district, and the refinancing of existing leases, and issue general obligation bonds for the payment thereof? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the school district is anticipated to remain unchanged at the current levy of $0.3901 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.Summary: The measure would allow the district to borrow $48 million to make major repairs across the district and to pay off existing lease agreements for Antonia Middle School and school buses. If passed, taxes would not increase but debt service obligations would be extended. Major projects would include replacing roofs and HVAC systems and upgrading lighting. Safety and security systems across district buildings would be upgraded. Supporters say these improvements are essential to maintaining facilities.
