Grandview School District Four-Day School Week

Simple majority required.Ballot wording: Shall the school board of Grandview R-2 adopt the provisions of Section 171.028, RSMo, establishing a four-day school week for the next 10 years in the district of Grandview R-2?Summary: This measure would allow the district to continue the present four-day school week. If passed, the four-day week, begun in 2019, would continue through 2036. The district implemented this plan to recruit and retain qualified school teachers. Savings from the plan have been used to increase salaries. Supporters say the plan has worked well, enjoys support from district residents and hasn't resulted in lower academic achievements. Opponents say it hurts working parents who must get additional child care and requires students to put in longer days.
