Kimmswick Proposition Capital Improvements

Simple majority required.Ballot wording: Shall the municipality of Kimmswick impose a sales tax of one half of one percent (0.5%) for the purpose of funding capital improvements which may include the retirement of debt under previously authorized bonded indebtedness?Summary: The measure would allow the city to increase the sales tax by a half cent to fund capital improvements. If passed, an estimated $80,000 to $88,000 in additional revenue would be generated. The improvements would include street repair, sidewalk construction, lighting and stormwater facilities. Supporters say many tourists visit the city and these upgrades are necessary to provide a high-quality visitor destination.
