Simple majority required.Ballot wording: Shall the City of Dardenne Prairie impose a local use tax at the same rate as the total local sales tax rate to increase funding for services such as public safety, street maintenance and other essential services, provided that if the local sales tax rate is reduced or raised by voter approval, the local use tax rate shall also be reduced or raised by the same action?Summary: The proposition would allow the city to establish a tax on out-of-state purchases equal to the city's sales tax rate. The revenue would help the city deal with increasing costs of city services, supporters say.
