Simple majority required.Ballot wording: Shall Section 3, Article 11 entitled "Compensation" of the Council in the Charter of the City of Berkeley, Missouri be amended to read as follows: "The compensation of each member of the Council shall be Four Hundred ($400.00) per month. In addition, each Councilperson shall be reimbursed for any necessary and specifically incurred expenses authorized by ordinance or resolution of the Council?"Summary: If passed, the measure would increase City Council members' pay to $400 a month from $175 and allow the council to pass an ordinance or resolution allowing reimbursement of position-related expenses. Supporters say the measure would encourage people to run for office who can't afford to do so now.
