Fenton Fire District Proposition D
Four-sevenths majority required.Ballot wording: Shall the Fenton Fire Protection District issue its general obligation bonds in the amount of $18,000,000 for the purposes of acquiring and equipping life-saving and firefighting vehicles; acquiring emergency rescue, fire protection and firefighting apparatus and auxiliary equipment; and acquiring, constructing, extending, renovating, improving, replacing, furnishing and equipping fire stations and related facilities to improve emergency services?Summary: The measure would allow the district to borrow $18 million to buy fire trucks and upgrade training equipment for emergency services. If passed, taxes would not increase but the debt obligation would be extended. Supporters say aging firetrucks need to be replaced and equipped, and upgraded training equipment is needed for dealing with electric vehicle fires and providing health services.
