Simple majority required.Ballot wording: Shall the Board of Directors of the Kinloch Fire Protection District be authorized to levy an additional tax of no more than 25 cents per one hundred dollar assessed valuation to support the pension/retirement program for full time employees of the district?Summary: The measure would allow the district to increase the property tax rate by 25 cents per $100 assessed valuation. The increased revenue would be used to fund the pension plan for firefighters. The owner of a home worth $100,000 would pay an additional $47.50 a year in taxes. Supporters say a pension plan is necessary to attract and retain qualified firefighters and that it allows staffers to retire when they need to.
